Making Moves, Fine-Tuning Freedom

Occupational therapy assessment

At ACES, we understand the critical role that occupational therapy plays in helping special education students achieve greater independence and success in their daily activities. Many children may face difficulties with everyday tasks that are crucial for their academic and personal growth—such as grasping small objects, coordinating movements for handwriting, or coping with sensory stimuli in a busy classroom setting. Our doctoral-level OT staff will look at what your child can do and what they struggle with, what they have set out to achieve and how they can accomplish it, and what are the best ways to overall support your child.

Through comprehensive evaluations, our occupational therapists assess a variety of functional areas, including hand-eye coordination, strength, endurance, and daily living skills. We use these assessments to create personalized intervention plans that promote meaningful engagement in school activities, social interactions, and self-care. By addressing these foundational skills, we aim to empower students to navigate their environments with confidence and ease, ultimately enhancing their quality of life and educational outcomes.
