ASSESSMENTS
-
If you have concerns about your child's learning, behavior, or development, an evaluation can be crucial in identifying their needs and strengths. It provides a foundation for creating a tailored support plan. We recommend evaluations for any child who may benefit from a deeper understanding of their educational and developmental profile.
-
If you’re a parent looking for a second opinion on their child’s educational needs, you will start the process by giving the school a written request of an IEE. Once it is granted and we have connected with the school, we will conduct interviews, classroom observations, review all records, and administer assessments. The process will end in an IEP meeting where our thorough and comprehensive report containing our unbiased, expertise recommendations will be presented.
-
We understand the unsettling feeling and urgency you have as a parent when you think your child’s needs aren’t met. We at ACES strive to provide thorough assessments, with a fast turnaround. Due to the fact that IEEs require input from multiple people, we can’t guarantee a timeline. However, all our assessments are competed within 2 months from our first contact.
-
While school-based assessments evaluate within the framework of educational eligibility, an IEE, performed by an independent professional, often delves deeper into the child's unique challenges and strengths, offering detailed, personalized recommendations for support and intervention.
FINANCES
-
Second opinion IEEs come at no cost for the family. They are paid by the school district. If you want an assessment done without involving your child’s school, we can certainly do so. In that case, the payment would come from the parents.
-
ACES does not process insurance claims directly but can provide superbills for services rendered. These superbills can be submitted by you to your insurance companies for potential reimbursement under out-of-network benefits. We recommend consulting with your insurance provider to understand your coverage.
